There’s plenty of pros for going private. African Elephant Coming To The Safari Vehicle

Immersive Kenya

If the Africa that intoxicates you is the savannah you remember seeing on nature documentaries as a child, then Kenya is your perfect destination. This section of northeast Africa, most notably Kenya and neighbouring Tanzania, is the ultimate safari destination. Our eight-day itinerary here offers the Big Five-spotting adventure of your dreams, as well as a few lesser-known experiences that you’ll never forget. You’ll start in Nairobi, using colourful matatu vans to visit a giraffe sanctuary and tribal cultural centre. Then it’s off on an outdoor adventure along the Great Rift Valley, starting in the mountainous Aberdare National Park. We’ll visit a world class coffee factory and epic outdoor market en route to our gorgeous country lodge. From there we’ll head to Lake Nakuru, where you’ll embark on a first safari, spotting thousands of pink flamingo wading in the shallow waters, as well as buffalo, black rhino and leopards prowling nearby. Our final destination is the real safari hotspot, though, as we reach the Maasai Mara. The Mara is an extension of the Serengeti, and arguably the best place on Earth to safari. You’ll be staying in a luxury campsite right in the heart of the savannah and, as well as one day dedicated solely to wildlife-spotting, you’ll also get to spend a full day with a Maasai tribal village. Book at the right time of year and you could even witness the epic sight of thousands of migrating wildebeest charging across the savannah.

A hiker stands on top of Lions head during a morning run, overlooking Table mountain with a panoramic view, Cape Town, South Africa

Splendid South Africa

Our 11-day extravaganza along the famed Garden Route of South Africa is equal parts glamorous, culturally riveting and naturally abundant. You’ll start in Cape Town, with an informative visit to the city’s oldest Black African township and a fascinating cooking class with the city’s Muslim community, as well as an ascent to the top of Table Mountain. From there you’ll have the chance to kayak with penguins and reach the southwestern-most point of Africa, before reaching the splendour of Stellenbosch, one of the world’s finest wine regions. You’ll spend a full day hopping on and off the adorable Franschhoek wine tram, which takes us from vineyard to vineyard for tastings galore. After that you’ll be itching for fresh air, so the coastal town of Knysna and the luscious vegetation of Tsitsikamma National Park awaits. Our trip climaxes in style with the one thing any holiday in South Africa must include – safari! You’ll spend two nights at a luxury lodge within a giant game reserve, where you’ll get to embark on up to four Big Five-spotting safari drives.

Ultimate Egypt 2024

No country in all of Africa can compete with Egypt when it comes to bucket-list attractions, but this place is about so much more than just the Great Pyramids. You’ll visit them, as well as the Sphinx and the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum, on our nine-day itinerary, but you’ll also get a guided tour through the beating heart of Cairo, stopping off for tea at an iconic local cafe and visiting a traditional bookbinding store, where you can buy a personalised leather notebook. Then we trace the Nile south, first by sleeper train and then on a luxury four night river cruise. You’ll explore Luxor Temple by candlelight, discover the Valley of the Kings and master your haggling skills in the souk of Luxor. More temples and tombs await en route to Aswan, where we’ll swap the river cruiser for a kayak as you go paddling on the Nile, past the incredible islands of Aswan. Cap off the trip of a lifetime with an authentic Nubian dinner – delicious.

We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
