Soulful South Korea

The shoulder seasons are generally considered to be the best time to visit South Korea. While the cherry blossom of springtime does tend to steal the headlines, don’t discount the beauty of fall foliage across this beautiful East Asian nation. There’ll be plenty of easiness on the eye throughout our 10-day itinerary, which starts in the neon-lit capital of Seoul. You’ll explore the old and the new here before heading out into the countryside to explore the DMZ – AKA the border with mysterious neighbours North Korea – and Seoraksan National Park, a luscious mountainous expanse that looks utterly gorgeous at this time of year. You’ll explore ancient Korea in Gyeongju and during a traditional temple stay experience in Golgulsa, while things get foodie in coastal Busan, where you’ll sip soju and take part in an authentic Korean cooking class. Discover the charm of Jeonju’s traditional Hanok village and gorge on Bibimbap before returning to the capital.

Go Wild in the Galapagos

Warm (on land and in the sea), dry and sunny – this exotic archipelago off the coast of Ecuador is everything you’d want an outdoorsy destination to be in November. You’ll spend most of our five-day itinerary enjoying the good weather, be it by hiking along lava trails in search of rare birdlife, or snorkelling with sea lions off Punta Carola Beach. Choose between kayak or paddleboard in the Itabaca Channel, spot penguins and iguanas on an uninhabited island, and kick back at a magical rural glampsite in the Santa Cruz highlands, where you’ll be joined by over a hundred freely roaming giant tortoises.

Tropical Northern Thailand

November marks the beginning of a new season in the jungles of northern Thailand. Temperatures drop down to far more pleasant figures, with humidity and rainfall drastically down compared to previous months. This makes it the perfect time to join us on a truly immersive 10-day itinerary, starting in Chiang Mai. After a bit of street art and street food you’ll soon wave goodbye to the city and hello to the many waterfalls and rocky canyons of Pai. After discovering ancient caves, natural hot springs and even more waterfalls, we’ll go jungle trekking through Mae Hong Son. Indulge in a Thai banquet on day eight, while day nine rounds off the trip in style. First you’ll wake up early for a sunrise summit of Thailand’s tallest peak, followed by a trip down to an ethical sanctuary that takes care of former working elephants. You’ll get to walk with, bathe and feed these gentle giants, which is quite the lasting memory to have of Thailand.

Fall foliage along the Great Wall of China during the autumn months

Icons of China by Train

Temperatures might cool in China come November, but the glorious fall foliage surrounding the Great Wall make this an incredible time of year to visit. You’ll get to walk across the Wall at sunset and sunrise on this bucket-list destroying trip, which ties together the nation’s most famous sights via high-speed rail. You’ll visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City in Beijing, get a taste for ancient China in Pingyao and get up close and personal to the Army of Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an. Our final destination is Shanghai, the country’s largest city, and home to one of the world’s most iconic skylines, which you’ll float right past on a dreamy sunset cruise – the perfect way to watch the sun go down over your East Asian adventure.
